In search of serenity, seclusion, and stunning scenery? This is one hotel that's certainly worth a pilgrimage. Tucked away on Bali's west coast, not far from the iconic island temple of Tanah Lot, Alila Villas Soori is a world away from the hue and cry of Bali's busy tourist spots. In this secluded retreat, all you hear is the hush of waves on the black-sand beach, the rustle of the surrounding emerald-green rice fields, and the calls of unknown birds.
Outside and inside seem to flow into each other, thanks to the enlightened design of this eco-friendly haven, which blends streamlined modern architecture with the lush environment—and, of course, with luxurious comfort. Inner courtyards and expansive glass doors maximize breezes and light.
