With his love of tropical life and song, it's no wonder Chris Blackwell,
recording mogul turned hotelier, has chosen two unique settings in the Bahamas
for his moving-target-but-always-innovative style of resort. On a recent swing
through the area, we had a chance to visit Compass Point Beach
Club on New Providence Island (Nassau), and to stay for several
glorious days at Pink Sands on Harbour Island, Eleuthera. Here's
our report:
Pink Sands—Harbor Island
An Out Island Sanctuary
For those who aren't familiar with it, Harbour Island is as charming as a
tropical island can get. To call it the Nantucket of the tropics wouldn't be
far wrong. It offers many choices of accommodations, ranging from
simple-but-nice to the touted-but-overrated. We know—we've checked them
all out—and our favorite without reservation, is Pink Sands.
