Hideaways' Review
Leave your sleeping bag behind, but bring along your "great outdoors" sense of wonder and prepare to be wowed by a night sky chock-full of brilliant, dazzling stars. This isn't the camping you remember doing as a child, but more a luxurious, pine-surrounded bedroom suite that just happens to have canvas walls and a peaked roofline. Each roomy tent has all the creature comforts necessary to make you forget you're practically roughing it, plus its own private luxury bathroom (we're talking marbled shower and plush towels) in the nearby bathhouse. The newest and most luxurious cluster of tents, called Pinnacle Camp, even features en suite baths for those middle-of-the-night pit stops. On the other hand, if you're easily frightened of things that go bump in the night, you can always opt for one of the 28 private, rustically elegant ranch homes dotted across the resort's vast 37,000 acres. Each has two to four bedrooms and other rustically elegant touches like soaring timber-lined ceilings, comfy leather furnishings, a Montana-sized shower, a floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace, and a big back deck complete with hot tub.
You'll sleep like a baby after a full day in the invigorating fresh air of Big Sky Country, spent rafting down the Blackfoot River, or climbing on horseback to a rocky point overlooking endless vistas, or in the ruthless pursuit of rainbow and cut throat trout. For an authentic ranch experience, you can saddle up and set out with a seasoned ranch hand to gather up cattle—this is, after all, a working ranch. Or simply indulge in a luscious spa experience followed by a gourmet dinner featuring fresh local ingredients and paired with an exquisite wine. Then settle in with a nightcap for the light show overhead, in that amazing Montana night sky. |
